GMTA Spring Local Auditions
The GMTA Spring Local Audition is a preliminary audition required only for the Piano Division, Grades 4-11 (but not including the Piano Concert Division.) "Outstanding Performers" in Grades 4-11 will be selected at the Local Auditions and will proceed to the Regional Auditions.
There are three rounds of the GMTA competition: local, regional and state. SMAMTA is in Region 3, along with the local chapters of Columbus, Coweta-Fayette, Macon, South Georgia. (Regional auditions will be held at Mercer University, Macon. State audition will be held at UGA, Athens.)
SMAMTA allows students in Grades 2-3 to participate in the Local Audition; however, students in Grade 2-3 do not advance to the regional level. Second and third grade students should follow the same repertoire guidelines as the other grades.
*Important: The SMAMTA Local Auditions are set and regulated by GMTA. For information, guidelines, repertoire requirements, and application, please refer to the GMTA website
